Pabst Theater Group hits show-booking goal at Miller High Life Theatre

The Pabst Theater Group reached its goal by booking 30 dates at Miller High Life Theatre in the first year under an agreement intended to increase activity at this historic venue located downtown Milwaukee.

Pabst Theater Group and the Wisconsin Center District signed a five-year contract in March 2022. The Wisconsin Center District owns the 4,087 seat theater located at 500 West Kilbourn Ave.

The 30 dates are shows that have been booked for a one-year period, starting August 1, 2022 and ending July 31, 2023. Marty Brooks, the district's president and CEO, said that the Wisconsin Center District would not normally have booked so many shows.

Brooks told an interviewer after the district board meeting on Friday that he was'very happy'.

Brooks stated that the terms of the agreement were not disclosed due to competitive reasons. He said that Pabst Theater Group will pay a flat fee to the district for each day of an event.

Pabst Theater Group offers its own staff, food and beverage service, and bookings at the theater. PTG works with AXS, its ticketing partner instead of Wisconsin Center District ticketing partner Ticketmaster.

Brooks said Pabst Theater Group has already booked half of the 30 dates in the second contract year that begins Aug. 1.

The next show on the list is Counting Crones on June 21. Tim Allen, Los Tigres Del Norte, Fantasia, Goose, Ringo Starr, and his All-Starr Band are among the shows announced for August and September.

Gary Witt, the president and CEO of Pabst Theater Group, said via email on Friday that his company has hosted incredible artists such as Noah Kahan and Mitski as well as Glass Animals and Lord Huron as well as Amy Schumer, Alice Cooper, and family shows like "Wheel of Fortune," "Bluey," and "Baby Shark."

Witt stated that PTG will be building a dining area for artists as well as a modern kitchen for the culinary team.

Witt stated that the Miller High Life Theatre will be a top choice for artists to perform at, just like The Riverside. Marty Brooks and his team are great partners who always choose to do the best thing for Milwaukee. Miller High Life Theatre has a bright future.

The Pabst Theater Group is made up of the Pabst Theater, the Riverside Theater, Turner Hall Ballroom, and the Back Room. These venues can accommodate anywhere from two hundred to over 2,400 people.
