As a throwback ski destination, Alta, Utah, has a one-room public school to match its small town atmosphere. While many skiers may not be aware of its existence, they might notice the pint-size skiers in P.E. class expertly navigating the mountain. Around 20 years ago, the town realized it was losing families among its employees because there was no school. To address this, Alta created a one-room public school in a former storage room. The school not only educates the children of the town’s employees but also serves as a source of town pride.
