China hopes to reach a solution with the EU on EV tariffs ‘as soon as possible'
·1 min
China’s Ministry of Commerce expressed its desire to quickly reach an agreement with the European Union regarding the planned tariffs on imported Chinese electric cars. The EU initiated an investigation into subsidies in China’s electric vehicle production last year. China’s new energy vehicle industry has seen significant growth, with companies like BYD exporting these vehicles to Europe and other regions. The European Commission had warned that if discussions did not progress well, additional duties on Chinese EVs would be imposed. The two sides have been engaging in talks, and China opposes the EU’s anti-subsidy probe.
