Elon Musk recently expressed his views on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on jobs. During a tech conference, Musk suggested that AI could lead to a future where jobs are optional and AI and robots provide all goods and services. He emphasized the need for “universal high income” to ensure the availability of goods and services. However, concerns remain about responsible AI usage and the potential impact on different industries and jobs. Musk acknowledged the role of emotional intelligence and human interaction in certain professions that may not be easily replaceable by AI. Nonetheless, he questioned whether a job-free future would provide emotional fulfillment and meaning for individuals. Musk also advised parents to limit their children’s exposure to social media, which he believes can be influenced by dopamine-maximizing AI.
