NASA releases satellite photos of Dubai and Abu Dhabi before and after record flooding

NASA released photos showing before and after images of Dubai and Abu Dhabi following heavy rainfall last week. The record rainfall caused dangerous floods and disrupted daily life in the United Arab Emirates. The images, captured by NASA’s Earth Observatory using Landsat data, reveal extensive patches of water across the desert and urban landscape. Flash floods on April 16 submerged cars and led drivers to abandon their vehicles. The UAE experienced nearly a year’s worth of rain in less than a day, surpassing historical records. The country continues to face challenges in terms of infrastructure damage and residents lacking basic services.
