Simone Biles is competing at the Xfinity US Gymnastics Championships as she continues her journey to the Olympics. Biles, a seven-time Olympic medalist, will headline the event alongside Suni Lee, the all-around title winner at the Core Hydration Classic. Biles aims to claim her ninth victory at the national championships, the final event before the Olympic Trials in June. Other contenders include Jordan Chiles, a team silver medalist in Tokyo, and Jade Carey, the reigning Olympic floor champion. Gabby Douglas withdrew due to an ankle injury, ending her chances at the Paris Olympics. The women’s Olympic team will be chosen after the trials, with the all-around winner automatically making the team. The event begins with the men’s competition on May 30 and concludes on Sunday. Biles, the most decorated gymnast of all time, returned to the sport last year after experiencing the ’twisties’ at the Tokyo Olympics.
