Hormel Foods has issued a recall for two Planters products – peanuts and mixed nuts – due to a potential listeria contamination. The recall covers 4-ounce packages of honey roasted peanuts and 8.75-ounce cans of deluxe lightly salted mixed nuts distributed to retailers in five Southern states. The company has not received any reports of illnesses related to the recall as of now. Consumers are advised to dispose of the affected products or return them to the store for a refund. Listeria can cause serious infections, especially in pregnant women, newborns, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
