In a highly competitive match, the top-ranked player, Jannik Sinner, defeated Daniil Medvedev, the fifth-ranked player, to advance to the US Open semifinals for the first time. Sinner, the 23-year-old Italian, has now reached three major semifinals this season and is the first player born in the 1990s or 2000s to achieve this feat in all four grand slams. Sinner will face Jack Draper, who reached his first major semifinal by beating Alex de Minaur. On the other side of the draw, Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz will compete for the other semifinal spot.
