Top state winners in Small Business Week awards from Orlando area

The Small Business Administration honored two area business leaders as Florida's Woman Business Owner of the Year and Minority Business Owner of the Year.

Top state winners in Small Business Week awards from Orlando area

The Small Business Administration announced the regional and state winners for Small Business Week this week. Two of these honorees, Florida's Minority Business owner of the year and Florida's Woman Businessowner of the year are from the Orlando region.

Tonya Oxford is the owner and CEO at Global Technology Integrators LLC in Orlando. She was also named Woman Business Owner of Year for the North Florida Region and the State. Rick Castillo of Castillo Engineering, based in Maitland was named the Minority Business Owner for the State and Region.

Jonel Hein, North Florida District Director said, "Our small businesses were resilient and continued to grow both during and after the pandemic." The winners of this year's award have shown growth and entrepreneurial spirit by thriving in very difficult times.
